CHA and Catholic Relief Services - Urgent Earthquake Response in Turkey and Syria

Donate To This Campaign

On February 6, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake devastated large areas of southern Turkey and northern Syria.

The death toll has surpassed 50,000 and continues to climb.  It is the worst earthquake to strike the region this century.

Southern Turkey and northern Syria are currently facing winter conditions with snow and sleet falling in affected areas and freezing temperatures projected in the days to come. Telecommunications are disrupted, exacerbating efforts to identify and account for families.  Transportation is also impaired at airports across southern Turkey.  Many hospitals in the region have been declared unusable.  Schools and public spaces have been officially closed across Turkey. Caritas partners, in coordination with local authorities, are gathering displaced people in safe and open spaces and trying to distribute hot meals and clothing.

You can help!

Your gift will help provide safe shelter and access to food, clean water and hygiene supplies. Catholic Relief Services will support emergency relief efforts led by local partners in both Syria and Turkey, including Caritas Internationalis.

Fill out the secure form to make a one-time donation to help families affected by the earthquakes.
